NEWTS IN THE UK
Three newt species of the genus Triturus occur in the UK, the smooth newt (T. vulgaris), the palmate newt (T. helveticus), and the crested or warty newt(T. cristatus).
As an area of special interest to me, I have covered this genus in somewhat more detail than the other groups of reptiles and amphibians.
