Although reptiles and amphibians are becoming increasingly familiar as pets in the UK, the twelve or thirteen native species are paradoxically becoming less and less familiar.

These webpages are an attempt to provide information on the amphibians and reptiles found in the UK. These animals are no longer as common as they once were, and some species are in danger of extinction.
