Cut to outside Sexbat's house. Cleggy wanders around the street. He stops at the end of the pavement and sits down on the curb, shaking his head dejectedly.

Cleggy: I can't do it. I can't go on alone.
Cleggy's phone rings. He looks down at it a moment then he slowly answers it.
Guy: Sexbat will always be with you.
Cleggy: Java-G! Why didn't you tell me? You told me Price betrayed and murdered the goth scene.
Guy: Price was seduced by the techno side of Goth. He abandoned the scene and wrote bad reviews of any even slightly goth band. Goth music stopped being creative and the gap was filled by techno, glam-metal, and media-inspired mopey-goths. When that happened, the lively scene which was goth was destroyed. So what I have told you was true... from a certain point of view.
Cleggy stands up and walks down the street and shouts angrily into his phone.
Cleggy: A certain point of view!
Guy: Cleggy, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.
Cleggy is unresponsive. Guy waits in silence for a moment.
Guy: I don't blame you for being angry. If I was wrong in what I did, it certainly wouldn't have been for the first time. You see, what happened to the goth scene was partly my fault.
Guy pauses sadly.
Guy: The original goth scene was alot of fun.
Cleggy pauses with interest at this. As Guy speaks, Cleggy sits down on the curb, mesmerised.
Guy: When I first joined the scene, goth was already quite popular. But I was amazed how strong and passionate the music was. I took it upon myself to become a DJ. I thought that I could DJ just as well as Sexbat. I was wrong. My pride has had terrible consequences for the scene.
Cleggy is entranced.
Cleggy: There's still hope for it.
Guy: I also thought the variety of the 80s could be brought back to the scene. It couldn't be done. It is more techno now than music. Uncreative and dull.
Cleggy: I can't do it, Guy.
Guy: You cannot escape your destiny.
Cleggy: I tried to DJ. I couldn't do it.
Guy: Price humbled you when first you met him, Cleggy...but that experience was part of your training. It taught you, among other things, the value of patience. Had you not been so impatient to DJ then, you could have finished your training here with Sexbat. You would have been prepared.
Cleggy: But I had to help my friends.
Guy: (grinning at Cleggy's indignation) And did you help them? It was they who had to save you. You achieved little by rushing back prematurely, I fear.
Cleggy: (with sadness) I found out Glam Metal is the new Goth.
Guy: To be a Goth, Cleggy, you must confront and then go beyond the techno side - the side many can't get past. Fast meaningless music is the easiest door - for you, like the My Little Ponies. Only, the Ponies are seduced by what they find on the other side of the door, and you have held firm.
You're no longer so reckless now, Cleggy. You are strong and patient. And now, you must face Simon Price again!
Cleggy: I won't DJ for a bunch of pretentious trendies.
Guy: Then the Pale Emperor has already won. You were our only hope.
Cleggy: Sexbat spoke of another.
Guy: The other he spoke of is an American net.goth DJ.
Cleggy: But, there are no American net.goth DJs here.
Guy: Hmm. To protect you both from the Pale Emperor, she stopped DJing when she came to this country. The Pale Emperor knew, as I did, if the net.goths were to produce any DJs, they would be a threat to him. That is the reason why this DJ remains safely anonymous.
Cleggy: Shawnee! Shawnee's the DJ.
Guy: Your insight serves you well. Bury your feelings deep down, Cleggy. They do you credit. But they could be made to serve the Pale Emperor.
Cleggy looks into the distance, trying to comprehend all this.
Cleggy: But you can't let her get involved now, Guy. Price will destroy her.
Guy: She hasn't been employed as a goth DJ the way you have, Cleggy... but a sense of rhythm is strong with her, as it is with many net.goths. There is no avoiding the confrontation. You must face and destroy Price!
