Patricia, My Mini

Patricia is the result of a lot of hard work, when a student got his first go faster mini stolen (also losing his stick on Calafornia Rasin) and was rather broke. Basicaly she was bought for a meger sum of #325 in the summer of my third year at Univesity on a Friday.

Her MOT was on the Thursdy, ie the day before i bought her, any way on the Sunday, she bit a Pergeot 106 (never did like 'em). The brakes failed, i was in first gear, with the hand break on and blind panic on my face as the woman in front said (she was in the road, turning right across a stream of traffic). Shame she sat with her foot on the break rather than, admitedly missing her turn, going forwards....ah well, I'm not bitter with her.

I took the poor car home, because of the low speed, a headlamp was smashed and she looked to be winking a bit (a pic might ensue) but she was basicaly ok. I took the brake drums off and they were heavily score, the shoes were down to the rivets and it was low on brake fluid...ah well an ol' trick of tightening the breaks up to pass an MOT.......

Now the mechanic who sold me the car, I may be a little bitter with him !!!!

After the acedent, i touched her up with a hammer and such as best i could, she still had a little wink and such, but with a new lamp, it wasn't too bad. I also fitted some secondhand drums, new shoes (Wot no boots) and added some brake fluid. This was the state that she went up to the first whitby in with me and a guy called James Hawtin, she was parked all weekend in a cresent, nose first and didn't make much of an apearance =:-(

However her Ash tray rattled something terrible and really managed to anoy both James and me. So after the Net.Goth meet up in the Elsinor, James asked caDAVEr if we could nic some of the blue tack....This got placed under the rattling ash tray and was Patricia's second modification. The first happened the day i bought her, which was the changing of the *bus* like steering wheel for a nice small one, improving the ride ( I'm V.Tall and my legs were not happy....with the mod, more room than most cars) and the handling tremedniously.
