Children: Not now, not ever. Am looking into having this surgically ensured.

Occupation: PA - I get paid very little to tell people who make vast sums of money what to do

Pets: Snuffles the evil bunny; Gordon and Sneezey the guinea pigs; Buffy, Willow and Spike the rats (Buffy has several large tumours and is not long for this world); and Ibjilah the gerbil (I never saw the appeal of gerbils till I was guilt-tripped into having one; but she's become the household favourite)

Books: I read lots. History, anthropology, "proper" literature. Iain Banks, "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt, Ian Rankin; "Cryptonomicon", Tim Powers "The Anubis Gates", A.S. Byatt "Possession" that's just from the last year or so, can't get a fix on anything further back than that.

Movies: Wings of Desire, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, How to Steal a Million, My Favourite Year. On the whole there are very few films I can watch more than once, no matter how much I enjoyed them the first time round.

Poems: Blake, Byron, Baudelaire, John Donne

Television shows: Currently Buffy, Angel and Stargate. Long term, MASH was a big influence.

Songs: "Wild is the Wind" and "As the World falls Down", David Bowie; "Perfect Day", Lou Reed; "Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight", REM; "Pink Glove", Pulp. among hundreds of others

What are some of your hobbies: Reading. Needlework when I'm not too arthritic, jigsaw puzzles when I am. Going for long walks in pretty parts of the countryside on those rare occasions I can walk for more than 10 min. without falling over.

What's the motto you adhere to: If it can go wrong, it will. And usually to me. (I know this is what Pete said. But it's totally my take on the world).

What is your personal stupid human trick: Moving to an area that's even less cosmopolitan than the last place. That took some doing.

What do you want to be doing 10 years from now: Be a working-from-home web designer/technical writer/goth online retailer and using the profits to subsidise an animal shelter.

What is the one thing/skill that you do not have now that you wished you possessed: Some confidence would be good.

What do you think is your best asset: I'm flexible and adaptable to my surroundings and circumstances.

What do you think is the worst thing about you: I've been using the same "funny for 5 minutes" sig file for the last year.
