How to Make Cheap Clip-on Earrings
Ok, suppose you want to wear an ear/nose/nipple/navel/whatever ring,
but you don't want to pierce it.Or maybe you want to try it out for a
while before you decide. Well, there's a cheap and easy way to make
hoop earrings without having to pay for it.
First you will need:
- A spiral notebook
- Wire cutters
- A file (optional)
It's really simple. Here's what you do:
- Get a spiral note book. Make sure the
spiral binding is the right size for the earrings you want. Also make
sure they are the right colour.
- Cut off the
end of the spiral. Count the number of earrings you want and
cut a little more than that number off the end of the notebook's spiral
binding. Don't use the entire binding or else the notebook will be
useless and if you borrowed it from someone they will be disapointed
with you! Once you've cut, you can just rotate the spiral until it
comes out of the notebook. You should now a have an inch or more of
spiral wire.
- Cut down the
tops of the spiral. Use the wire cutters to cut the tops of
the spirals (as marked in yellow). This should make several circular
hoops.
- Bend the loops flat. just bend the loops
into flat hoops of the shape you want. The end pieces probably won't
work if you weren't careful to make them complete loops.
- File the ends (or don't). The ends will be a bit
rough, so you have 2 options:
- Deal with it.
- File until content.
I always did number 1, but I never had a decent file.
That's it. Now you have a never ending supply of fake earrings!
